                                                                  Field Trip Reminder

Our class trip to Lichterman Nature Center is Tuesday, October 28.  We need to know who is attending and driving by this Friday, Oct. 3.  There will be a reminder in the Wed. Folder. If you have not returned your orange form with the exact amount of money and wish to attend, please send the form and money by Friday.  Several have sent the form but not the money.  Both are needed by Friday. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Weekly Newsletter for September 29 – Oct 3

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans and I Corinthians will be written on the back of the paper.

New Testament Book of the week:  I Corinthians

Reading:  We will complete Sequence of Events and test the vocabulary Tuesday and the Skills test on Wednesday.  Your child will be required to learn 3 of the 8 process questions and be able to write these for the test.  Know the pattern statement, process questions, and vocabulary words for the test.  

English: Continue learning capitalization and punctuation rules as well as antonyms and synonyms. Remember to study the vocabulary, antonyms and synonyms for each chapter.  The word for chapter 4 is audience.  The antonyms and synonyms are on the back of the peach sheet in the green take-home folder. 

Math:  Various math skills and math facts adding 0, 1, 2, 9, and doubles + 1 facts

IXL: A5 (numbers on a hundreds chart)  A7 (Even and Odd numbers) complete this skill by Friday, 10 - 3.

Science: Finishing Apples and will begin habitats.  Our field trip to Lichterman will conclude our habitat unit.  

AR in computer lab on Thursday.  Have five or more books ready to be tested. We have 30 minutes to test.  If they only have a few books ready, they are not prepared and spend time reading instead of testing.  There is not a lot of time to test in class so this is the best time to test!

Reading:  Our new unit is called, Sequence of Events.  The sheet with the pattern statement, process questions and vocabulary is in the front of the red reading folder.  Your child will be required to learn 3 of the 8 process questions and be able to write these for the test.  

English: Continue learning capitalization and punctuation rules as well as antonyms and synonyms. Remember to study the vocabulary, antonyms and synonyms for each chapter.  The word for chapter 3 is moist.  Know the synonym and antonym for moist. Look on the peach page in the blue English folder.  Look on the back of that page as well for Chapter 3 antonyms and synonyms.  We will test on Chapter 3 Tuesday. 
Math:  Various math skills and math facts adding 0, 1, 2 and 9.  Their new facts are adding 9.  

IXL: A4 (missing numbers on a number line) complete this skill by Friday 9-26.

Science: Apples and Johnny Appleseed.
