Weekly Newsletter for November 24 – 28

Thanksgiving Lunch – Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 12:30 in our classroom.  Parents are invited to attend!  We will not be doing crafts,  just enjoying our meal together! We have made several items that will be on display for you to see. The class will play a game that they will make.

***The following Bible verse and spelling words will be tested on the week of 
Dec. 1.  

Bible verse:  You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.  Matthew 1:21

New Testament Book of the week:  II Thessalonians 

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians,  I Thessalonians and II Thessalonians  will be written on the back.

Reading: Our current unit is called Summarization.  Please help your child learn the Pattern Statement and three of the process questions for when they are tested. 

English:  We will have a Chapter 7 Shurley English quiz on Monday.  Please review the review sheets in your child’s folder Friday and use the English sheet in their Take Home folder to review. Please study the vocabulary, synonyms, and antonyms.  We are identifying parts of speech. 

Math:  The new facts of 13 and 14 were sent home in the folder Friday. 
Our four new facts are:  8 + 5 = 13, 5 + 8 = 13, 6 + 8 = 14, and 8 + 6 = 14
Look at the daily math sheets to see the skills your child should know.  

IXL:  None for this week!

Social Studies:  We will continue with Native American/Thanksgiving activities.

AR:  Please help your child write the title of each book and the testing number on the reading log in the back of their red folder.  The number can be found by going to AR Bookfinder.com and typing in the title.  Feel free to copy that number into any of my books that do not have a number already!
