Weekly Newsletter for January 20 – 23

New Testament Book of the week:  Philemon

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I Thessalonians, II Thessalonians,     I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus and Philemon will be written on the back.

Spelling Words Lesson 18:  yawning   lawn   fawn   crawl   drawn   hawk   shawl   straw   haul   fault   vault   small   stall   chalk   city   favorite   October   Philemon (Test will be on Friday due to short week.)

Reading:  We will continue the unit called Character.  Please study the character study guide sheet in the red Reading folder.  Study the pattern statement, process questions, vocabulary and visual tool. 

English:  We will continue Shurley English chapter 9. This chapter will emphasize subject/verb agreement.  Please study the vocabulary, antonyms and synonyms for that chapter. We will also study pronouns and subject pronouns. 

Math:  We will begin to learn subtraction facts. We are learning minus 0 and minus 1 facts.  Look at the daily math sheets to see the skills your child should know.  

IXL:  G4 – Add two digit numbers without regrouping

Social Studies:  We will be learning about penguins in January.  
Penguin reports are due Friday January 23.  The format and direction sheet was in the  last Wed. folder.
We are learning about the beginning of America as we prepare for our chapel program about America. 

AR:  Please help your child write the title of each book and the testing number on the reading log in the back of their red folder.  The number can be found by going to AR Bookfinder.com and typing in the title.  Feel free to copy that number into any of my books that do not have a number already!
