New Testament Book of the week:  James

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I Thessalonians, II Thessalonians,     I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus, Philemon,  Hebrews and James will be written on the back.

Reading:  We will begin a new unit called Main Idea.  Look for the new sheets in their red reading folder.  Study the pattern statement, process questions and vocabulary.  

     

English:  We will begin chapter 10 which is a writing chapter on the writing process.  We will learn to write a two-point expository paragraph.  Expository paragraphs explain or give information. 

Math:  We are learning subtraction facts.  We are learning minus 0, 1 and 2 facts.  We will keep reviewing addition and give that 100 facts/5 minutes timed quiz about every 2 weeks.  Look at the daily math sheets to see the skills your child should know.  

IXL:  G5 – adding 2 digit problems with regrouping.  Please assist your child if needed on the skill. 

Social Studies:  We will prepare for our chapel program and learn about Washington and Lincoln in February. 

AR:  Please help your child write the title of each book and the testing number on the reading log in the back of their red folder.  The number can be found by going to AR Bookfinder.com and typing in the title.  Feel free to copy that number into any of my books that do not have a number already!
