Weekly Newsletter for February 9 – 13

We will exchange valentines on Friday, Feb. 13 and have a valentine snack and a drink. You may send wrapped candy or other small items if you wish.  Following are the names of the children:

Girls: Alyssa, Ava, Anna Rhodes, Olivia, Presley, Addisyn, Shiah, Hollie, Wylee, Clare, Reagan, Audrey, Brianna, and McKenzie

Boys: Hayden, Manning, Ethan, Harrison, Jake, Jackson, Finley.


Bible verse:  Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.  Psalm 100:2

New Testament Book of the week: 
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I Thessalonians, II Thessalonians,     I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus, Philemon,  Hebrews, James and I Peter will be written on the back.

Reading:  Our unit is called Main Idea.  The new sheets are in their red reading folder.  Study the pattern statement, process questions and vocabulary.    
  
English:  We will begin chapter 10 which is a writing chapter on the writing process.  We will learn to write a two-point expository paragraph.  Expository paragraphs explain or give information. 

Math:  We are learning -3 subtraction facts now.  We will keep reviewing addition and take that 100 facts/5 minutes timed quiz sheet in the green folder on Friday to study.  We will take the review addition test on Tuesday. We will take this review test about every 2 weeks. Study the sheet in Friday’s folder to study. Look at the daily math sheets to see the skills your child should know.  

IXL:  H1 – subtracting 10 without regrouping

Social Studies:  We will study about Lincoln, Washington and do Valentine’s Day activities. 

AR:  Please help your child write the title of each book and the testing number on the reading log in the back of their red folder.  The number can be found by going to AR Bookfinder.com and typing in the title.  Feel free to copy that number into any of my books that do not have a number already!
